Let me tell ya. I have 9 DVRs I have been testing out, all of which are H264. No one solution is finished or perfect. Slow remote, streaking video, interlace issues, frame skipping. WOW. Some Mpeg4 DVRs blow these units out of the water. No doubt there are some positives but so far no one solution has it all.

Having 20 people access a security system is an ambiguity! Unless the video is not for security purposes.

Yes, just connect the DVR to the Network?? am i missing something? I would be very interested in seeing an analysis of that data network in that office with 20 people accessing a single video system over the network? Of course if they don't need to access it at the same time, what stops twenty people from accessing a Network DVR ?

Tell me on same network i have 1 lac people in single govt. office and all want to acess they system but administrator alos like to give some restrictions to each user will it be possible in analog system? if yes how?

IP opens more doors to access, more people need access to the security system when you go IP, hence you have a reduced level of security management, intelligence and analytics can be built into a DVR with an analog system --- providing a more secure signal, The Security evidence is not broken into packets, and sent over networks subject to congestion and packet loss, Analog surveillance has failed because people don't have the time to sit and watch it, or to review video --- those who do are not effective because of specific human attention span issues.

In fact while IP has many superior Functions to analog, many of the advantages are misrepresented. Analog CCTv is almost digital, remotely accessible, has superior frame rates, better light sensitivity, better responsiveness to PTZ devices, in fact in the analog vs IP debate, analog almost always wins ---- in the Analog vs Megapixel Ip.....that's a different story, but not for the reasons we normally offer.

May sir, If you talk in in Govt. and high level private companies they require a high level of security manangement, a system like everything can controlled from a single mouse click, secondly less use of human brain as it always more probab. to human errorrs so they use video analytics as of like obect counting, object left , suspicious behaviour, smoke/fire detectuion through cctv camera... I myself have dome many projects of this may u can see the software that I use at www.ipcctv.webnode.com in products, .... May I Know from which company u are?

Vasu -- in your opinion what is the main driver causing people to want an IP camera?
Vasu Garg Comment by Vasu Garg on November 19, 2009 at 7:20am
Mr. Bradon for your more info.. You can trust the Hybrid cctv software supporting both analog as well as IP at http://www.ipcctv.webnode.com , and also it supports approximately all formats inclusing Mpeg 4, jpeg, h.264, etc.

Ok, so you switched from Mpeg4 to H.264 ---- what specific enhancement where you expecting from H.264 as opposed to Mpeg4?
Vasu Garg Comment by Vasu Garg on November 18, 2009 at 4:18pm
Why don't you just connect u r H.264 DVR by using some 3rd party software as like on http://ipcctv.webnode.com , then u'll be with finest remote minitoring. (Smart Monitoring Innovations)

I have tested both platforms including IP cameras to boot. Some better than others.

I have a question. I would never ask what brands you are testing but could you share if they are stand alone or PC based?
