Looking through CCTV catalogs, I see many power supply boxes for CCTV cameras. Does anyone have suggestions on a good one for 8 cameras? The reason I ask is because of the many options.

I would look for something with high amperage, battery backup and a regulator to be able to regulate your voltage for longer wire runs.

Do you have specific numbers of amps? I would like a power center that could take 12vdc and 24vac.

Hello there!
As from my experience - as solution for 24V - Altronix is the best. Simple and reliable
Cheers!
